the medic achievements are pretty cool though, whether or not you get anything out of them is irrelevant

Personally i think it will be really unbalanced to begin with because major updates take time and their only gunna do 1 or 2 classes in each update, i think once its done though it will be ok. I don't want it to turn out like COD4 though where everyone has unlocked everything in 2 days and all the noobs use the really overpowered stuff, which will be something to look out for. When i bought TF2 it was mainly for the fun experience of everyone on a level playing field, but i'm not sure how unlocks will affect it. My overall opinion on this matter is that if valve get it right, it'll be brilliant, but if they don't they'll wreck TF2 completely. And its gunna take a lot of effort even valve will strain to achieve to get it right.

Thats why they havent done anything yet. Well, except nerfing demo and soldier ammo and medic ubercharges(grumble).

The Blutsaugher

>For players that earn one third of the 36 new medic achievements, they will be given a new syringe gun. Called "The Blutsaugher," this new weapon no longer has the ability to score critical hits against an opponent. Instead it will draw health from enemies each time a syringe hits. Especially useful as a weapon to retreat away from the fight while staying alive.

The Critzcrieg

>Once a medic has earned two thirds of the achievements, they will be granted "The Critzcrieg." This new medigun uses its ubercharge not for invulnerability, but to give its recipient 100% chance to fire critical ordinance. Medics and the player they are charging need to be careful though, because as much fun as it is to fire critical rockets as fast as you can, the other team will see what you're up to and try to put a quick stop to your plan.

The Ubersaw

>For the determined medic that has earned all 36 of the new achievements, they will find themselves the proud owner of "The Ubersaw," which will take damage done in melee attacks and convert it directly to ubercharge. Four hits with this new weapon will fully charge whatever medigun the medic has equpped.

aint too drastic? that ubersaw is pretty much GG (2 medics rush, one is uber'ing, the other with saw. they then swap over each time the uber runs out. Permanent uber!)
